The following is an excerpt from my upcoming book,
An Inner Journey: Living Your Life Purpose.

Nobody said you have to do it all by yourself. You're not the only person on this planet, ya know. There are others who are just waiting for you to ask them to assist you, to help you lighten your load as you travel along your path to living your Life Purpose.

I know, I know, it's hard to ask for help. There's your pride to be considered and all.

Here's something that may shift your beliefs about asking for help. Take a moment and think back to a time when you helped someone. How did you feel afterward? I'd wager your answer is something like "I felt so happy to be able to help them and to do some good" or "my heart was filled with love and joy". Helping other people feels sooooo satisfying and fulfilling.

Would you deny your friends and loved ones an opportunity to feel that good about themselves???

The next time you're reading a book, remember that the book didn't become reality by one person doing all the work. Anyone who has written a book will tell you that they had many helping hands along the way to get it into your hands. The author may write the book alone, but after that they have the help of people like book designers, publishers, editors, publicists, distributors, and all the people who sell the book at the book stores. There isn't a book alive that doesn't have at least one page of acknowledgments from the author, thanking all the people who helped to make the book possible.

So it is with you. Look around you. There is an abundance of people who are willing to help you. Now is not the time to be shy or coy or to diminish yourself and your work. These people were put in your path at a specific time and the specific place so that they can assist you. Some of them you even contracted with before you were birthed onto this planet just so they could help you. Some of them are simply gifts from the Universe.

As you journey into living your Life Purpose you'll have ample opportunity for other people help you along your path. And by allowing them to help you, you may just be helping them to live their Life Purpose. The graphic artist who designs beautiful book covers may be living her Life Purpose of creating beautiful, healing artwork. The publisher may be living his Life Purpose by being a facilitator so that others can share their inspirational and uplifting messages.

The next time you are feeling overwhelmed or thinking that you simply don't want to do it all by yourself, remember what a gift you are giving others when you ask them to help you.
