A
Special Tarot Reading
Once
again my spirit guides inspired me to move in a different direction.
They've been gently poking at me for several weeks now to do a Tarot
reading for this newsletter. Okay. I'm listening and heeding the
message!
With
any Tarot reading there must be a focus. So it is with this one.
Sometimes the focus is called The Question, The Issue, or The Challenge.
Whatever it's called, for this reading it's about living in harmony
with the other beings around us. Not just with other people but
with the animal, plant, and mineral realms... and the planet herself.
For
this reading I'm using one of my newest decks, The
Tarot of Dreams by Ciro Marchetti. The positions for the
cards from left to right are The Past, The Challenge, The Outcome.

The
Past
In the position of The Past is the Queen of Coins. The suit of Coins
represents the element of earth and the realm of earthly or physical
manifestation, usually assumed to be money.
This
card is lush and green with tall trees and billowing clouds in a
blue sky. The Queen is holding a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers
and is dressed in elegant a rich green gown with much expensive-looking
green jewelry.
But
all is not well, indicated by the reversed position of the card.
At closer inspection we see that the clouds are gray and look like
they may portend a storm. The sky is not a happy light blue, but
an unhappy dark, blue-gray Darkness lurks, boding unhappiness in
the world.
The
queen has a serious look on her face and seems lost in her own thoughts.
She's looking away, as if she doesn't want to face what's in front
of her. She clasps the bouquet of flowers close to her, at the same
time protecting her Solar Plexus chakra - the center of Personal
Will and Power.
The
sign of Sagittarius is over her head, representing a searching for
the truth. This gives us a clue about the subject of the Queen's
thoughts.
She's
pondering on how to discern the truth about the condition of her
world. Since she's looking to the left, which is the direction of
the past, we know that she's searching in her mind for what went
wrong in the past to create the problems in the present. Did the
focus on making money influence the issues that she now faces? If
so, how?
The
Challenge
In
the position of the Challenge, which also represents the Present,
we have the nine of Cups. The suit of Cups represents the element
of water and the world of human emotion. Nine is the number of completion,
of sharing the wisdom we've gleaned through our experiences for
the benefit of ourselves and others.
This
card is rich with the natural plenty of our world. Fruits pour out
of a golden cornucopia and nine full wine glasses surround the man,
who is obviously delighted at having so much abundance in his life.
Note that the riches in his world are not based on money, but on
the vast bounty that nature provides.
The
basis of true happiness, then, is not money but all that which our
natural world provides for us. The man wears a wreath of leaves
to honor the true source of his happiness... the abundance of nature.
The
Challenge, then, is this: What have we learned from our experiences?
How do we use this knowledge to create a world of natural abundance
- pure water, clean air, unadulterated food - so that we may live
happy, abundant lives?
The
Outcome
In
the position of the Outcome is the six of Swords. The suit of Swords
represents the element of Air and the realm of thought.
A
masked and hooded man stands in a boat which glides over water that
appears oily. His mask represents a facade, a whitewashed image
that he presents to the world. Over his heart he wears a pendant
of that which is dearest to him - gold.
Behind him is a gilded archway, and beyond that in the distance
we can see a shadowy forest. The sky is dark and gloomy with black
clouds looming. A light shines behind him, looking like moonglow
and indicating that his journey is by the cover of night.
He
comes from a world of darkness and shadows, a world in which it's
easy to hide the truth. The gilded archway is another fallacy. Its
gleaming gold is inviting as a representation of wealth, but in
truth it leads to a world of darkness.
Although
he holds high a lamp, it's held close to him and can be used only
for his own purpose. It's not held out to share with others for
their enlightenment.
Swords
bedeck the front of the boat, sending a warning of his willingness
to do battle with anyone who tries to impede his progress toward
his goal.
This
card gives us the secret to winning the battle for a healthy world.
Lies and deceit can only live in the dark. When you hold up your
own bright light and shine it in dark corners, the lies shrivel
and disappear, leaving only the truth.
Those
who would abuse our world for their own financial gain can only
continue if they're allowed to remain hiding behind their masks,
working in the cover of darkness.
The
reversed position of this card shows that the influence of this
card is not as powerful as it could be, were it upright. If you
look closely at the water in front of the boat you'll see that it's
reflecting light. That light is coming from each of you who take
action in caring for your world... and who care for all the other
beings who share it with you. As you continue to shine your light,
you diminish the darkness, disallowing those who would damage our
world for their own gain to operate.
Love,
Kathy
ps.
Remember that a reading from any oracle, including a Tarot reading,
is actually a reading of the energy at the time of the reading.
Because of the Law of Free Will on this planet, the future outcome
can be changed. It's up to you.
pps.
By the way, did you know that Arco and AM/PM Minimarts are owned
by BP? Is it really worth it to save $3 on a tank of gas if by doing
so you're also supporting the company who is making billions from
polluting our oceans?
Intuitive
Tarot: The Online Course
During
the years I've been teaching Tarot classes I've received requests
for an online Tarot class from people who live far, far away. I
was stymied as to how I could teach something as interactive as
reading the Tarot without the student being right in front of me.
Finally,
inspiration hit! Excitedly I gathered up all my class notes and
created my new Intuitive Tarot Online Course.
BIG
PLUS! As I was going through my notes to create this
course, I added even more material than what was in the original
class. Here's just a bit of what's covered:
important
stuff to know before you buy a Tarot deck
- how
to get a better, more clear reading by asking the right question
- three
quick and easy spreads for amazingly in-depth readings
- about
the Minor Arcana - the suits, the
people, and the numbers
- how
each position of a card in a spread or layout relates to
and enhances the meaning of the card
- the
energy of numbers - going beyond traditional numerology
- how
the Major Arcana illustrates the Journey of the Soul
- the
three levels of the Major Arcana
- a
simple formula for the interpretation of each card in a spread
- the
importance of the only card numbered 0
- what
the Death card really means

Essential
Oil of the Month
R.C.
Winter's
coming... and along with the cold weather comes colds and flu.
This
essential oil blend gives relief from colds, bronchitis, sore throats,
sinusitis, coughs, and respiratory congestion. It combats lung infections,
decongests sinus passages, and relieve allergy symptoms.
It's
a wonderful blend to diffuse during winter. I put a couple of drops
on my pillow so I'm enjoying the benefits of this oil while I sleep.
When I wake up my sinuses are clear and I'm breathing more easy.
Additional
suggestions of how to use it:
- Apply
on your chest, neck, and over sinus areas
- Place
a drop on your checkbook and wallet
- Directly
inhale the aroma from the bottle for fragrant influence
- Diffuse
(always use a cold or misting diffuser)
- Add
2 - 4 drops to your bath water
- Use
as a hot compress
- Put
4 - 8 drops on a cotton ball and locate on heater vents (not on
a heater where it may catch on fire)
- Sprinkle
8 to 12 drops on your furnace filter
- Add
2 - 4 drops to a bowl of hot steaming water. Place a towel over
your head, lean over the bowl of water/oil and breathe in the
healing vapors.
After
applying the oil, rub your hands together briskly to spread the
oil on the palms of your hands and to warm it. Then cup your hands
over your nose and take three to five deep breaths, bringing the
molecules deep into your body.
Young
Living oil is steam distilled from the leaves and stems of 100%
organic plants. Unlike other brands of essential oils, there are
no chemicals used in the processing of the plants. Nor are there
chemicals or other ingredients added to dilute or damage the natural
healing properties of the oils.
