It's My Birthday Actually, my birthday is in a couple of days. It's December 3rd, or 123 if you'd like an easy way of remembering the date - in case you want to send me a present or take me on a world cruise or something. My birthdays are wonderful and I look forward to them with happy anticipation, although this was not always the case. I have a whole wad of unhappy birthday memories. Years ago, when I was suffering horrid agony caused by a boyfriend who forgot my birthday, a very wise women shared a secret with me. Her wisdom has stayed with me all these years and has saved me from ever again feeling hurt, left out, or resentful on my birthday. I'll share it with you so you, too, can always have wonderful birthdays. "I always give myself the present I want on my birthday," she said. "That way I empower myself to get exactly what I want. I'm no longer in the position of Birthday Victim." Now, I plan my birthday and buy myself the present I want. Any gifts, cards, parties, lunches, etc. that I get from others are Birthday Bonuses and add to my already wonderful birthday. This year I'm going to Kalaloch Lodge at the ocean for my birthday. It's one of my favorite spots in the world. Although the trip isn't happening for a week or so, I'm already enjoying it, as I envision my walks on the beach in the stormy winter weather, looking for treasures left by the waves, and then going back to the cabin to warm up by the cozy wood stove. This means for the last 20 or so years I've been constantly looking for and sucessfully acquiring new employers. Over the years and through all my entrepreneurial careers, I've gained quite an extensive knowledge about how to go about getting a job with a new employer. The techniques and skills I learned about finding new customers and clients are the same ones you'll need to find a new employer or company to work for.
