Blame It On Mercury Retrograde How's your Mercury Retrograde going? If it's anything like mine, it's a lollapalooza. It's one of the reasons this edition of the Journal is late by a few days. Mercury Retrograde strucketh me down. Here's what happened: It was the time of month when I do my invoicing. I clicked on the icon to open the brand new, expensive edition of QuickBooks Pro that I now have on my brand new computer. Instead of the program opening, I received a message telling me that I had ZERO days left to register the program and until I did so, I would be locked out of the program. When I tried to register, I couldn't because I hadn't updated it during the month I've had it installed on my computer. I couldn't update it because I hadn't registered. I couldn't register because I hadn't updated. A classic Catch 22. Two tech support calls and 6 hours later I was able to use my program. My CPA, who called just as I was getting Quickbooks working again, REminded me of a Mercury Retrograde lesson I had learned many years ago, and evidently needed to RElearn again. NEVER RELY ON ONLY ONE SOURCE FOR ANYTHING!! Years ago during a Mercury Retrograde, my email went down for almost a week. The lesson of never relying on one source for anything was brought to my attention in a manner I couldn't ignore. The solution: get an alternate email source as a back-up. This particular astrological aspect is all about RE-doing things in order to discern what isn't working so that you can correct it... not just a band-aid fix, but a permanent fix, so that if anything like this should happen again, you'll be prepared. Anything that begins with RE (REdo, REtracing your steps, REmember, REthink, REplan, REplay, REvisit, REvise, REconsider) is a candidate for a Mercury Retrograde lesson. Had I REmembered this lesson, I would have had a back-up program. The opportunity to REvisit this lesson has nudged me to get one so if this ever happens again, I'm ready. Love, ps.
