Take an inventory of all your inner voices, noticing both the content of what they say and the tone with which they say it. Some of them may be chatty and others shy; some blaring and others seductive; some nagging and needy and others calm and insightful.

Welcome all the voices in your head into the spotlight of your alert attention. Ask them to step forward and reveal their agendas.

A Secret to Successful Race Car Driving

Years ago I became immersed in the Rich Dad Poor Dad teachings. I read every one of his books, went to several of his seminars, and even bought his Cashflow board game.

One of the teachings that stuck in my mind was about focusing on what you want and where you want to go. Many of you will recognize this as the Law of Attraction basics. The example he gave was learning how to drive a race car.

He gave his wife an unusual present for her birthday one year... race car driving lessons. While this probably isn't something she was dying to receive as her birthday present, the lessons proved to be more valuable in ways she could ever have imagined.

As she was learning how to drive extremely fast around an oval track, she repeatedly came close to crashing into the concrete retaining wall as she entered the first corner. After three or four times, her instructor who was sitting next to her in the passenger seat said, "If you want to avoid hitting the retaining wall, DO NOT look at it. Instead look in the other direction where you want to go - the inside lane of the track."

"But I have to look at the retaining wall in order to know where it is so I don't crash into it," she responded.

"Actually, that's not how it works. Give it a try this time and see," he gently encouraged her.

She got her speed up to almost 200 mph in the straightaway and as she neared the dreaded corner she did as he said. She focused her attention on the inside of the track. To her complete astonishment, she easily steered the car to avoid the concrete wall.

The lesson? You drive where you're looking.

This metaphor is very fitting in all other aspects of life. Where you focus your attention is where you'll end up. If you focus on your lack of money, that's what you'll get. If you focus on your aches and pains, you'll get lots more of them.

Humans habitually focus most often on that which is causing them pain, whether it's physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, or some other type of hurt. Mostly this is because relief is the absence of pain and it's pretty difficult to focus on an absence of something. But focusing on pain only increases it.

For example, if you stub your toe your entire focus then goes to that painful toe. However, it's one small part of your body. All the rest of your body is feeling just fine.

Focus on the sore toe and the pain increases. Focus on the rest of your body that isn't painful and the pain magically diminishes.

Where's your focus? Is it on the concrete barrier or is it on the inside lane? Is it on the parts that hurt or the parts that feel good?

Love,
Kathy

Kathy - Anacortes Fun Fair
Saturday, March 10, 2012

That's the day I'll be giving a talk on DNA at the Anacortes Fun Fair in beautiful Anacortes, WA! I'll talk about why most of our DNA was deactivated eons ago and why now is the time to reactivate it. I'll discuss the purpose of the additional strands, the differences between various DNA activations, and what you can expect after having the Interdimensional 12 Strand DNA activation.

When I'm not giving my talk, I'll be at one of the tables, giving mini AstroArchetype readings (15 minute readings). In between the readings, my talk, and chatting with folks who stop by my table, I'll be giving away free copies of my book, An Inner Journey: Living Your Life Purpose, and chatting happily with everyone who stops by.

My talk is scheduled at 1:30pm and I'll be at the fair all day. See you there!

Saturday March 10th from 10am to 5pm
at the Fidalgo Community Center
1701 22nd St. Anacortes, WA 98221

Book o' the Month

Books have always been an important part of my life. Because I love books so much, I want to share with you those that especially excite me. This month's selection is...

Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah
by Richard Bach

If you haven't read this book, it's time.

If you have read this book, it's time to do it again.

Disguised as a fictional story of a man who was a "barnstormer", this book is actually a parable with messages of profound wisdom. While the story stands on its own as a tale of completely enjoyable adventures, the snippets of profundity woven throughout the storyline will put your reading brakes on and bring you to a screeching halt. Each wise tidbit is like a gooey caramel that you want to chew on slowly so as to best savor its sweetness.

Here are some samples:

  • You're always free to choose a different future, or a different past.
  • You teach best what you most need to learn.
  • The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's lives.

Although the book is small the story is hugemongous. The Reluctant Messiah's words will stay with you for a long time, at the ready to help you make your life a wondrous event.

Essential Oil of the Month

Niaouli
Melaleuca Quinquenervia

As a member of the Melaleuca family, Niaouli oil is similar to Tea Tree oil but has a lighter, less medicinal aroma.

Niaouli is an excellent general immune system booster and an agent to help with allergic reactions.

It's properties are analgesic, antiseptic, bactericide, cicatrisant (helps to close wounds), insecticide, decongestant, and vermifuge (expels parasitic worms from the digestive tract.

Niaouli is used for treating pulmonary infections such as bronchitis and sinusitis.

Suggestions of how to use it:

  • Add 2 - 4 drops to hot bathwater, lie back, and inhale the aromatic and healing steam vapors
  • Deeply inhale the aroma directly from the bottle.
  • Diffuse (I use a misting fountain and the whole house smells fresh)
  • Apply 1-2 drops to the chest
  • Use during Raindrop Therapy and Vitaflex Technique

To obtain the fullest aromatic benefits of this oil, after applying it rub the palms of your hands together briskly to warm the oil on them. Then cup them and place them over your nose. Take three deep breaths This brings the minute oil particles deep into your nasal passages, where their energy imprint is picked up by the Olfactory nerve and taken to the Amygdala gland - the control center of all your emotions and the release of all hormones.

Young Living essential oils are steam distilled from the leaves and stems of 100% organic plants. Unlike other brands of essential oils, there are no chemicals used in the processing of the plants. Nor are there chemicals or other ingredients added to dilute or damage the natural healing properties of the oils.
