Animal Messengers Last week as I was taking a different route to the freeway I noticed something in the middle of the road ahead of me. As I neared the object it flew away! It was a duck sitting in the middle of the road, as if it was just waiting for me to come along and notice it. And so it was. Whenever I encounter unusual behavior in an animal, I'm alerted to the fact that it probably has a message for me. In the case of the duck, my first thought was that it was a duck out of water. Upon reflection I realized how perfectly this description fits me and my current living situation. It was a message of encouragement and support in the decision to sell our house and move to a more compatible area. There are many methods animal messengers use to grab our attention so that we get their message. One of those methods is appearing in an unusual environment, such as the duck out of water. Others are:
The next time you find your attention drawn to an animal, take a moment and reflect on the circumstances of your encounter. Notice the thoughts that come to you about the animal and its behavior. Then muse on how this is a message for you about an issue you're dealing with. And remember to thank the animal for bringing you that message of wisdom. Love, ps.
