Follow the Energy On my birthday two years ago I was at a T. Harv Eker seminar, enjoying the high energy, learning, and great fun with about 1200 other people. Between playtimes we actually did some work - inner work on things like our beliefs about money, our self worth, and other such interesting subjects. During one exercise we were being presented with the next exercise in which each of us, one by one, was to come up on stage and burn our own $100 bill. As you can imagine, there was much chatter amongst the participants about this. I was talking with a man who was sitting near me about this incredible idea, and as I was blathering away, I noticed he was attentively looking around the room. He was sitting up as tall as he could in order to better scan the room. Finally my curiosity overcame my indignity and rage enough for me to ask him what he was doing. "Following the energy," he simply offered. "What
do you mean? How do you do that? What for? What do you see?"
I began spraying him with questions. "Just follow the energy," he replied. "Huh. This guy's a big help," I thought to myself as I continued to mumble about not burning up MY hard earned money for no doggoned good reason. A few days later this man emailed me to tell me how he had decided that he was complete with the seminar after that exercise, even though there was another day of it. He said that by following the energy, doors opened to him. When he canceled his hotel reservation they gave him his money back. He got an immediate flight home even though it was during a holiday. He spoke for a while about how his business had grown since he'd learned about following the energy, but offered no help in advising me how to do this magical technique. Recently I was teaching a class in Spiritual Communication and we were on the part about listening to your body. Suddenly I realized how this man was following the energy! It's so simple! We're given guidance through our body. We receive this guidance through bodily sensations and through emotions. Physical feelings such as "gut feelings", tenseness, heaviness, and pain are some of the ways we're guided to follow the energy. These undesirable feelings move us away from choices and situations that would be less than beneficial to us. Happiness, joy, and relief are some of the positive emotions that guide us toward choices which are beneficial for us. The next time you're faced with a choice, listen to your body.
