Shopping... It Ain't for Sissies

Our study group is currently enjoying one of the more fun processes of The Law of Attraction and how to implement it into our lives. We've been shopping and spending tons of money every day.

Sounds like fun, doesn't it? That's what I thought in the beginning. After almost a month of shopping, buying, and spending thousands of $$$, I'm here to tell ya, shopping ain't all the fun it's cracked up to be. It's work. It's exhausting. It's a tough job. And it ain't for sissies.

The process, as described in the book, Ask and It Is Given, is to create a fictitious checking account and deposit $1000 the first day. Then spend it. The next day, deposit $2000 and spend it. The third day, deposit $3000 and spend it. And so on and so forth. The purpose of the process is to become comfortable with the flow of money and with increasing it.

Oh, at first it was fun and easy. Spending a couple thousand dollars is a snap. It was when we got up to the $20,000 mark it became work. For one thing, each of us were running out of things to buy.

For another, we realized that $20,000 doesn't really buy much. Sounds elitist, but it's true. It's not enough to buy a new car, unless you get a very small, very utilitarian economy version. It's not enough to buy a house. It's not enough to buy a private airplane or even one flight. And there's just so many trips you can take before the very idea becomes tiresome.

It became work to spend this money each day. Each of us began having to work at it. We had to do research in order to find things to buy. We began to get creative. One person bought a Robb Report magazine for inspiration. Another began spending the money on just a portion of a purchase, such as paying for first class airfare to an exotic locale one day and paying for the lodging the next day.

As it became more difficult for me to find things to spend my money on, I stopped doing the exercise. Interestingly, I could feel the money still coming in daily, and it was starting to pile up. By not spending the money I was creating a giant blockage at the incoming end of my money pipeline.

The result is that I've come to a new appreciation about keeping the pipeline of money open and flowing. It came as quite a surprise to me to learn how important it is to keep the outgoing end of my money pipeline open so that more can flow into it toward me.

And I learned that the flow of money is continuous. It doesn't stop just because we do. It gives new meaning to the saying, "get in the flow."

Love,
Kathy

ps. I invite you to try this process for yourself. You can use an extra check register (it seems that there's always more check registers than checks), a spread sheet, sticky notes, or whatever you wish. Let me know your results after you've played with this amazing exercise.

My friend and coaching pal, Rob Wilson, invited me to be on his Cowboy Wisdom radio show and I gotta tell you, it was a hoot! Listen to it here:

Rob has a new book coming out soon, inspired by his experience during a journey climbing a mountain near Sedona. The title is The Wisdom of a Cowboy: Crossing the River and Climbing the Mountain. Visit his website, www.cowboy-wisdom.com, to read about his other books and articles.

Wowsers! This is so incredible! For many years I taught the Magical Mystical workshops and classes, but was limited to either a small geographical area or had to travel far, far away. "It is nice that the emphasis on all issues is self-empowerment, become your own Guru instead of looking outside to empower someone else as a Guru." - Janet Baker, RN

"Good, practical help. Whetted my appetite for more." - John Larson

Essential Oil of the Month

Vetiver®

Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanoides) has a heavy, earthy fragrance similar to patchouli with a touch of lemon.

Vetiver oil is psychologically grounding, calming, and stabilizing*. One of the oils that is highest in sesquiterpenes, vetiver was studied in clinical tests by Dr. Terry Friedmann and found to successfully treat ADD and ADHD in children. Vetiver may help when coping with stress and to recover from emotional trauma and shock.

It is antiseptic, antispasmodic, a relaxant and circulatory stimulant. It's used to treat arthritis and rheumatism, as well as for skin care (oily, aging, acne, and wrinkles).

Personal Stories
Whenever one of my joints begins to complain with pain, I put a drop or two of vetiver on it and within seconds I can feel warmth spreading into the area. In fifteen minutes, the pain is lessened or completely gone and I can freely move again.

I shared vetiver with a friend of mine who had been wearing a brace on her hand because of rheumatoid arthritis. Within a few minutes after the apllication of two drops, she was pain free. She hasn't worn her brace since, even while working at her job as a waitress and carrying heavy plates.

One of my classmates at Tai Chi has been experiencing great pain in her shoulder and is facing possible surgery. I shared vetiver with her and she spread a drop on her shoulder. At the end of class she was moving almost normally, instead of holding her arm like a broken wing. She said she was going to put another drop on her shoulder and take another class right after ours!

Additional suggestions of how to use it:

  • Directly inhale the aroma from the bottle for fragrant influence*
  • Diffuse* (always use a cold or misting diffuser)
  • Apply 2 - 4 drops on location

Young Living oil is steam distilled from the leaves and stems of 100% organic plants. There are no chemicals used in the processing of the plants. Nor are there chemicals or other ingredients added to dilute or damage the natural healing properties of the oil.
