Invisible Boundary Violators

Recently I wrote about personal boundaries being invisible lines of protection that you set around yourself.

Violators of your personal boundaries are typically very visible. Usually it's other people who are traipsing over your personal boundaries, violating them and setting off your boundary alarms.

But there's another kind of boundary violator that's invisible. It's sneakier and often more difficult to identify.

These invisible boundary trespassers are your very own thoughts.

Those thoughts that you have about what you "should" or "shouldn't" do are boundary violations. In reality, they're someone else's thoughts and beliefs. They have been forced on you often enough that at some point they became a never-ending loop of automatically programmed boundary invasions.

What are some of the "shoulds" you have living in your head? Do you work at a job you dislike, one that may even be making you ill, because you should have a steady job with a regular paycheck? Do you feel like you should be responsible for other people's feelings? Is there a chore you're dreading, but feel you should do?

When you hear that voice inside your head saying "should" - stop instantly. Ask yourself, "whose voice is that? Who told me I should or shouldn't do this?"

Feel what your "should" thought is doing to your energy level in your body. Pay particular attention to any sensations you have around your solar plexus or stomach area.

Then make a conscious choice whether you want to do that "should" or not. Make it your choice and stop the invisible boundary invaders.

Love,
Kathy

Bunged-up Book Sale!

I was carrying a box of books from my garage to my house and I dropped it as I was trying to open the door. Lesson learned: put the dang box down and then open the door! Three of the books were just a little bit damaged on the outside of the spine. They're fine inside and on the front and back, but I can't sell them for the full price of $14.95. You can have one or all for only $6 each plus S&H of $5.95. Check, money order, VISA, or Mastercard. Use this order form and note on it Bunged Up Book. I'll even personally sign it for you!

NEW!!

An Inner Journey Workshop and
Teleworkshop!

Want to experience your inner journey with others who are travelling a similar path?

Beginning in January, you have two opportunities to enhance your experience with An Inner Journey as you join others who are during An Inner Journey Workshops. Enjoy the support and greater inspiration as you connect with others who are on the same path as you.

Both workshops are facilitated by me and are based on my book, An Inner Journey: Living Your Life Purpose.

Here's what some of the past participants said about the workshop:

"The value of support, clarity, and empowering language really stood out for me. I gained a huge awareness about myself. It gave me food for thought and an opportunity to move closer to my dreams."
Kimm F., Artist

"Taking this inner journey was like entering a sacred portal to a safe place, where I could go to re-discover my hopes and dreams and memories. I came to see how living from my core values creates harmony in my life, and more importantly, how NOT living from my core values creates discord."
Joyce G., Former Director of Development, Direct Relief International

"The tools from my childhood show me what my passions are now. It has already made a difference in my life." Penny V., Business Owner

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

Confucius
