Where
Are All the Interesting People?
In
the midst of completing the writing and re-writing of my next book,
The Magical Mystical Book, getting the proposal to a publisher,
and trying to balance all the rest of my life, I was inspired to
begin writing another book. This one is fiction (sort of) based
on my experiences years ago as a Project Superintendent on a commercial
construction job.
As
I began the list of characters, who are based on people I actually
encountered during this experience, I realized what a bunch of truly
interesting people they were.
- Red,
the building mover with flaming red hair and his family of little
Reds who worked in the family business.
- The
crusty old couple who lived in the old house on the property,
which Red moved. They bought a house with a view of the water.
You had only to stand in the bath tub on your tip toes and crane
your neck just so in order to see the view through the tiny window.
- My
boss, generous and kind to a fault... as long as he continued
to take his medication.
- The
foundation contractor, who had no phone and could only be contacted
in the evenings and weekends at the local bar.
- The
building inspector whose substantial form was walking testiment
to the good food his wife provided at her cafe just down the road.
And
then I wondered.... where are all the interesting people in my life
now?
Well,
it took me about 15 seconds of feeling whiney before The Universe
intervened and reminded me of a few of the interesting people I
know:
- Val,
my editor and friend, who just returned from a trip to Spain for
a Lexicographer's Convention. She had the amazing experience of
hearing the Tango sung!
- Kate,
my neighbor, who is the embodiment of positive thinking and manifests
wondrous things in her life constantly. She is a living reminder
for me of how thoughts become things. The most recent thing she
thought into reality is a free trip to Hawaii with her beloved
grandson, daughter, and son-in-law.
- Don,
another neighbor, who works in the entertainment industry as a
rigger. He sets up the stage for shows like Cirque du Soleil all
over the world and shares stories of his travels with me.
- Libby,
a ninety year old teenager, who zooms around to social functions
in her car - pedal to the metal, paints blazingly bright pictures
of anything that stands still long enough for her to capture it,
and has a hot pink door on her house.
- Lorri,
one of the women in my writer's group, The Sisterhood of the Traveling
Pens, who is writing a fictional autobiography of a very painful
part of her life. As she's writing the story, which is very
good, she's also healing her past. An amazingly courageous woman.
Who
are the interesting people that you're blessed to include in your
life? Are you one of them?
Love,
Kathy

Essential
Oil of the Month
Aroma
Siez
Summertime
fun and games often mean sore muscles afterward.
Aroma
Siez™ is a relaxing blend that is excellent for massaging away life's
little discomforts. Well suited for use after exercise or at the
end of a trying day, it also provides soothing comfort for the head,
neck, and tired feet.
It's
an advanced complex of anti-inflammatory, muscle-relaxing essential
oils that promote circulation and treat spasmed, tight, inflamed,
aching muscles resulting from injury, fatigue, or stress. It also
relieves headaches.
I've
used it often for sore muscles, both for myself and my husband.
Relief is almost instant and a big plus is that is smells wonderful.
One
evening, the muscles in my mid-back began spasming. The pain was
excruciating and I fell to the floor, writhing in agony. My husband
ran for the Aroma Siez, applied it to the spasmed muscles and within
a minute the pain was much relieved. Within five minutes, it was
completely gone.
Suggestions
of how to use it:
- Apply
on location full strength.
- Put
2-3 drops to your bath water.
- Add
to massage oil
- Apply
a drop to your temples and neck muscles to relieve a headache.
Oils
included in this blend are:
- Basil
- combats muscle spasms and inflammation. It's relaxing to both
striated and smooth muscles.
- Marjoram
- helps regenerate smooth muscle tissue and assists in relieving
spasms, sprains, and migraine headaches.
- Lavender
- relieves muscle spasms, sprains, and pains.
- Peppermint
- powerful pain-blocking, anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic
properties.
- Cypress
- improves circulation and lymphatic drainage. Reduces edema and
strengthens the vascular system.

The
Life Betterment Club for Women
Dear
Women,
Are
you feeling like your life is on hold, terminally?
Or
maybe you're getting the sense that there's more to life and you'd
like to experience some of it.
You're
not alone. Untold thousands of other women are feeling like you.
They, too, are feeling the dissatisfaction of being stuck in an
ill-fitting career, a dead-end job, or a relationship that no longer
suits them.
"When
mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."
That
old comic saying holds a lot of truth. In my experience over the
years as a life purpose coach and spiritual teacher, I've witnessed
many situations with people who were unhappy in one or more aspects
of their life. Their unhappiness spread out like ripples in a pond
and affected everyone around them.
We're
all together in wanting to make the world - our world - a better
place. It starts with you taking steps to improve your life. Each
time you do so, you improve the lives of all the people you connect
with, and they improve the lives of everyone they connect with,
and so on.
The
Life Betterment Club for Women is a group of women who meet once
a week for an hour on the phone. Each meeting is faciliated by me,
Kathy Wilson, Life Purpose Coach, and focuses on a concept or technique
for the betterment of each member's life.
