The Move We're moving to our new home next week and this past week has been chock full of preparing for this move. I'm currently living in a jungle of cardboard boxes, hoping against hope that I won't need anything that I've so tidily packed away. Moving used to be so simple. When I was naught but a poor hippie I could move everything I owned in my little sports car... in one trip! Now it takes movers with a huge moving van, an additional rental truck for my husband's wood-working tools and other miscellaneous stuff, and my pick-up truck for the delicate things, like our cats and a very huge and very special painting by Orlea Rayne. Then there's all the details that need to be done. Various utilities that need to be scheduled for disconnect at the Gig Harbor house and new accounts set up at our Port Ludlow home. Change-of-address forms need to be filled out for my husband and I, my business, and his business. I won't even go into all the inspections, paperwork, and last minute details that are required with the selling of one house, buying of another, and trying to have them both close at the same time. This entire, majorly stressful process has given me much opportunity to contemplate about how I'm going to simplify my life. Stay tuned to find out how that transpires. Love, ps. The first simplification is this: I won't be writing and sending out my ezine at the end of this month. Instead, I'll be busy trying to figure out where to put the stuff that's in all those boxes. Much of it may be findng a new home at the local thrift store.
