What's Next?

One of my favorite astrologers, David Pond, once told me during a reading that I had a very forward leaning chart.

How that manifests in my life is that, for the most part, I live in the future. I think a lot about the future - how my thoughts and actions in the now-time might affect my future, what might be ahead for me and my loved ones, how to get from here to there and what it might be like when I arrive, what to make for dinner tomorrow... you get the picture.

I share this about myself with you so you'll understand that it's my nature to jump right over Christmas and go directly to New Year's for this edition of my ezine. Specifically, my annual New Year's Day Treasure Map Party. It's the perfect party for those who, like me, live in the future and for those who are future-challenged. It's also the perfect party for anyone who wants to manifest a better quality life. (In other words, everyone!)

Treasure Maps, in case you're not familiar with them, are posters you make that represent what you wish to have or have more of in the upcoming year. They're sometimes called vision boards or goal-setting posters. Here's the recipe:

• poster paper - you can buy tablets of drawing paper at any art supply store. I like the 18" x 24" size
• glue sticks
• scissors
• magazines - LOTS of magazines

  Cut out pictures that represent what you wish to have or have more of during the upcoming year. Paste them on the paper. For more fun, have a Treasure Map Party and invite your friends and family to share the fun of creating this powerful manifesting tool. Ask them to bring magazines to add to the variety.

  Important: place your Treasure Map where you'll see it most often. The more you see it, the better your chances of success. The secret of how it works is that it by-passes the conscious mind (where the Inner Critic lives) and goes directly to the subconscious mind (the creative mind).

Treasure Maps are extreeeeeemly powerful aides in manifesting. I have all kinds of stories about how successes people have enjoyed with their Treasure Maps. One of my favorite successes is my husband. Almost twenty years ago I pasted a picture of a ruggedly handsome man who was wearing an apron on my Treasure Map. Within three months I met the man who became my husband. The apron? It represented a man who liked to cook. Every Sunday, my husband cooks breakfast... and cleans up the kitchen afterward!

Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha)

The use of myrrh goes back at least 4,000 years. It is mentioned in one of the oldest know medical records, Ebers Papyrus, dating from sixteenth century BC. It was listed in Hildegard's Medicine, a compilation of early German medicines by highly-regarded Benedictine herbalist, Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179).
